Regular cleaning helps prolong the life of your mats and keeps
them looking great over time. Here are some best practices and steps to
maintain them.
Best Practice: Avoid letting water accumulate
on top of the mats. Keep a towel handy to soak up excess water or liquid.
This not only helps reduce the chances of leaks but also prevents ice from
forming, which can make the mats slippery and unsafe.
Quick Wipe: A quick wipe-down with a bucket of warm water and
a microfiber towel will remove light salt stains.
Car Wash / Pressure Wash (10–15 minutes)
Step 1: Spray down the mats for a quick rinse to remove loose
debris.
Step 2: Apply soap and agitate with a brush. Be sure to brush in all
directions to get into the edges and crevices.
Step 3: Spray off the soap.
Step 4: Shake off the water and pat dry any excess.
Deep Clean with Soap (approx. 30 minutes) For the best wash, follow the
step-by-step routine below. While any quality car wash soap and stiff-bristle
brush will do the job, we recommend Pure Wash and the Otto Guys Heavy Duty
Brush for the best results.
Step-by-Step Routine
1. Prepare Your Wash Bucket
o Use a 20L wash bucket (available
at Home Depot, Canadian Tire, etc.)
o Fill halfway with warm water
o Add your preferred car wash
soap. We recommend 3 capfuls of Pure Wash (1 cap = 10 ml, so ~30 ml total —
perfect for mats)
Tip: Warm water helps loosen
embedded dirt in textured liners.
2. Pre-Rinse the Liners
o Use a garden hose or
pressure-controlled rinse
o Remove loose dirt, salt, sand,
and debris
o Focus on the channels and edges
Tip: Pre-rinsing prevents grinding
debris into the surface during scrubbing.
3. Apply Your Wash Solution
o Pour your soap mixture directly
onto the mats
o Ensure full coverage across the
textured areas
Tip: Pure Wash is our go-to. It
clings well to the surface, giving you more working time and better cleaning.
4. Agitate with a Heavy-Duty Brush
o Scrub all surfaces, including:
- Channels
- dges
- Heel pad area
o Use circular motions for even
cleaning
Tip: We recommend the Otto Guys
Heavy Duty Brush. It's firm enough to lift embedded dirt but safe for
thermoplastic surfaces.
5. Rinse Thoroughly
o Rinse until the water runs clear
o Ensure no soap remains in the
channels or texture
Tip: A quality soap like Pure Wash
rinses cleanly and won't leave streaks or a slippery finish.
6. Dry with an All-Purpose Towel
o Wipe down the mats to remove
excess water
o Allow them to air dry fully
before reinstalling
o Towels can be washed in warm
water with a mild detergent and dried on a low-heat cycle. Avoid high-heat
washing and drying to maintain towel performance.
Tip: Drying prevents water spots and
keeps the matte finish looking uniform.
Other Notes
For Winter / Salt Buildup:
· Let your soap dwell for 2–3 minutes before scrubbing
· This softens salt rings and makes removal easier
For Heavy Mud:
· Do a second scrub pass with fresh solution
·Mud tends to sit deep in the channels

TPE, or thermoplastic elastomer, is an ideal material for car liners due to its strength, flexibility, and durability. The odorless material stays flexible in cold temperatures to help maintain shape and resist cracking, while remaining easy to wipe or rinse clean. TPE provides superior protection for your vehicle's interior compared to traditional rubber liners.
